feelings of a mom

IT'S A.......BOY!

9:21:00 PM

We went to the doctor today and had an ultrasound! People asked me what I thought I was having and for the first time today, I pretty much felt like it was a boy.

Well he didn't hide anything in the ultrasound and he is definitely a boy! I'm actually okay with it. I wanted a girl so bad before, but I'm excited for a boy. Tessa is having and boy, Rob's sister just had a boy and his sister-in-law is also having a boy in the spring. He'll have a lot of little cousin buddies!

I'm most happy that he seems totally healthy. That's relieving.

I'm excited to do a red, yellow and blue vintage baby room. Tessa's doing a vintage primary color room too I think. I can't wait to go to a supposedly really cool quilt shop in Salt Lake and find some good stuff.

Happy Easter!

8:50:00 PM

We went to T. for Easter. It was really fun. All the kids were there, so it was fun to be all together. Although it's really crazy having tons of people hanging out in a little house, it's nice to see everyone. Matt and Jed woke me and Rob up at 5:30 in the morning looking for their Easter baskets. Man, I wasn't happy then, but later in the day, after a nap, I felt better.

Last week, I talked about looking for an Easter dress. Oh boy, I went shopping and got so sick of it! I hate shopping with a big fat tummy! I can't find anything and I am so picky. I finally broke down and got a semi-decent dotted-swiss gauze jumper at Burlington Coat Factory. When I came home, I showed my mom, and her fashionista opinion wasn't very high of my Easter outfit. She told me to take the dress back and then we scrounged for an Easter outfit at home. Luckily, I found something I loved. Here is a picture of me in the outfit on Easter with Robert.

My sister Tessa and I got a lot of attention at church because we were both pregnant, so we took a picture together. Tess and I are 7 weeks apart.

Here is a design board for a baby girls room. I'm more indecisive about the girls room. I have a lot of ideas, so I'm not sure if I'm in love with this the most.

My favorite is the picture of the little girl with the bunny. I found it on Etsy- sarahjanestudios. She has so many other darling pictures!!! I also love the Beatrix Potter fabric. The toile is based on Beatrix Potter's stories. I found it on Hancocks of Paducah- one of the best quilting websites ever. I also found that cute vintage Peter Rabbit on Etsy- Timeless Totes. Also what about that awesome chandelier!?!?!? I found it on warmbiscuit.com- so darling!

I finally saw a quilt the other day that made me be okay with having a boy! I've been drawn to girls' stuff so much that I was wondering if I could find anything I love for a boy. Rob and I have decided on a boy name - Jack Robert (we're a little less decided on a girl's name). I put together a little design board inspired by the quilt.

The design board includes vintage Dick and Jane fabric from Hancocks of Paducah. The sailboat is from Target and the little red wagon is from Pedal Car Planet. The vintage wooden blocks are my favorite! These are at Genius Babies.com.

I'm so excited! We find out what we're having in one week!
